What do you think about his new Tyson Index to measure a fighters excitability?
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3025548 It makes a lot of sense to me. There will be a lot of exceptions like the Barerra Morrales trilogy and others but I may take this into account when deciding whether to stay up until 12 or 1 in the morning to watch a fight.
It is a clever concept but as mentioned above it is flawed, if you get a fighter who is exciting to watch but goes in against top competition like Pacquiao does then he wont make the list because you aren't going to put top competition away in the early rounds in every fight but someone like Valero who has been knocking out nobodys for his 30 or so wins he will end up top, the idea is a good one as we all want to watch real fighters in real fights and to prove who is the best at this would be brilliant for boxing but there would have to be a different formula for working out the results to take into consideration the quality of opposition.
Would be interesting to see if fighters like Mayweather would come out and fight more if this list became a monthly publication in say Ring Magazine and he realised how truly boring he is and some others lately are to watch.
