Do all SD cards work for all cameras that use SD cards? How about Li-ion batteries?
I'm going to buy a camera that uses an "SD memory card." There are a ton of SD memory cards on eBay. Will ALL of them work for my camera, or do I need to make sure I get the right brand and size to fit my particular model?
How about Li-Ion batteries? Can I get any Li-ion battery, or are there certain proprietary Li-ion batteries for each camera model?

You will need to buy the specific Li-ion battery made for your camera. You can use an aftermarket replacement, but it must conform to Panasonic's specifications.
As audioman says, your camera may not be able to use a really large card. ("Large," meaning one with a lot of memory - not physically larger.) Check the owner's manual to see what cards are approved for use in your camera and stick to that list.
Be aware that there are fake Sandisk SD cards on eBay, so if the price is really crazy low - be suspicious.
